CREATOR’S DIGEST- A SOCIAL EXPERIMENT

“Now it is time to fly. Release this clean slate with the hope that it returns, tattooed and tattered, filled with the adventures, one could have never imagined.. Only in letting go can the process of discovery happen. Fill these pages of white with the colors of the universe, from the minds and hearts of the artist in all of us. May it one day come back with stories to tell, and beauty to share”

Those are the beautiful words of my mother, Donna King, on the introductory page of the Creator’s Digest. Maybe, in reading the words of my mother, you can understand me a little better as a human. I feel so lucky to have someone so close constantly reminding me to never take for granted what a beautiful place this world we live in, really is. I want the Creator’s Digest to have the influence on you, that my mother has on me.

“There are no mistakes, only happy accidents”- Bob Ross

The beautiful thing about art and literature, is that there really are no mistakes. In a world where we are constantly being scolded and bossed around, it is so important to have an outlet that you will never catch any negative slack for. The blank pages of the Creator’s Digest are meant to be a form of free therapy, a reminder that our brain is the most magical thing that we will ever possess.

When is the last time you just sat down in front of a blank sheet of paper and let your imagination run wild? I feel like too many people lose the simple pleasure of using their brains for the purpose of creativity. It is not our fault that the world doesn’t necessarily often push us to do so, or allow us the time to sit, breath, and see what else is in our mind besides stress. If you find this book to be in front of you, just know it is begging for you to express yourself, even if only for a few moments.

The first addition of the Creator’s Digest will be housed at Cafe Volan in Asbury Park starting Friday March 22nd until the beginning of April, when it will venture to its next temporary home. Please feel free to stop by and express yourself. You will be able to track the progress of the digest on instagram or twitter by searching #creatorsdigest  . At the end of the journey, I am hoping it finds me again so we will be able to have an entire blog with it’s contents so you can see that you are a part of something beautiful.

“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.” -Dr.Suess

Cat King is a rare bird.  Born and raised in New Jersey, she has lived all over the place including Philadelphia, Miami, Colorado, Manhattan, and Brooklyn. She recently moved back to her home state and is on a mission to fall in love with the place, allowing us to follow her journey. Cat is a professional model, DJ, and singer in the process of recording her first album. She also loves to write and is working on her first novel.

Cat, if you are interested in creativity the very last place you should be hanging out is Cafe’ Volan. The speech police are the thought police in disguise and Cafe Volan is a cess pool of speech police. Tri-city news is in bed with them.

Creative types don’t hang out there, only pretentious pretenders. Do want to have your conciousness expanded to a new level. That might be scary and more than you can handle. Did you ever hear of the ARTS LIBERATION FRONT ?

    Visit that site and: http://captflash-studio88.blogspot.com
Then the ARTS LIBERATION FRONT on You-tube.

If you have any courage and are interested in the truth (how scary is that) contact me and I will help you see the light.

    NEW MATH 2 = 2 = 7 How creative is that?
