IN MY ELEMENT: CARLY DIENER

EDITOR’S NOTE: “In My Element” is a new Anchor mini series by filmmaker Mike Boylan. The series focuses on those living and working in Asbury Park. First up is Carly Diener, a hair stylist at Gloss Salon on Lake Avenue.

I wanted to expand on the concept of my last film “The Faces of Downtown Asbury” by going more in depth.  “In My Element” is just that, meeting new people and hearing about why they live or work in Asbury Park. Each segment will focus on a different person and I hope to show in a short period of time their unique personalities.

Anchor editor Jason Thomson and I picked a handful of questions, some straight forward and some out of left field, to bring out fun reactions and answers from each individual.

This is a great opportunity for me to take my love of the moving image while getting to know the people who make Asbury Park the unique place that it is.

Mike Boylan is a creative genius in our eyes. This surfer and former owner of Stokaboka Surf Shop in Red Bank is the brains behind “The Faces of Downtown Asbury.” See some of his film work at mikeboylan.tumblr.com.
