DEUS SURF FILM PREMIERS TONIGHT AT AP YACHT CLUB

Deus is one of our favorite companies in the whole wide world. They are the motorcycle/surfboard company from Australia with a US location in Venice, CA. Asbury Park’s own Lightly Salted surf shop is the only area supplier of their gear. Deus is also a sponsor for the triCity affiliated Asbury Anchor helmet art show High Seas, Open Roads helmet art show happening Sept 6th at Asbury Lanes. Deus is also applying their artistic genius to a helmet for the show as well. (more…)

Panic State Records Anniversary show at Asbury Lanes to benefit local Food Banks

Panic State Records is a predominantly vinyl only label that donates the majority of their proceeds to charities. The label was formed by Bryan Greer in 2008 in New Brunswick. They have produced shows in Asbury Park with many local artists over the years. They have raised over $10,000 for numerous charities and it’s something they should be extremely proud of. (more…)

“FABLE” OPENS AT PARLOR GALLERY SATURDAY, JULY 5

The Parlor Gallery is hosting two openings on the same night, Saturday, July 5 from 7 to 11pm. “FABLE”, a solo show by New Jersey artist Victor Grasso will be presented in the main gallery along with “A Precious Few”, a group exhibition featuring works by Kris Lewis, Kate Zambrano,Mary O’Malley, Adam Wallacavage, Darla Jackson, Melodie Provenzano, Shawn Huckins in the rear gallery. RECYCLED WOODEN SUNGLASSES BY ACDWSH NOW OPEN IN ASBURY

The Shoppes at the Arcade in Asbury Park, NJ has never quite lived up to its potential in my opinion. Amazing historic building, tons of exposed brick, high ceilings, salvaged wood floors, lots of industrial design elements, and located in the heart of downtown Asbury. It really is an impressive space. But for some reason it just always felt cut off from the rest of the downtown. You just don’t have the same visibility as a stand-alone street level shop on Cookman Ave. Sometimes you just forget it’s there. A large part of that is branding and marketing. (more…)
