Panic State Records Anniversary show at Asbury Lanes to benefit local Food Banks

Panic State Records is a predominantly vinyl only label that donates the majority of their proceeds to charities. The label was formed by Bryan Greer in 2008 in New Brunswick. They have produced shows in Asbury Park with many local artists over the years. They have raised over $10, 000 for numerous charities and it’s something they should be extremely proud of.

We chose the Food Bank because we feel that everyone deserves a hot meal.  All of us – both the bands and label – are fortunate enough to have food to eat and if we can help provide that for families in need, we are all about it. Some of us volunteer at soup kitchens and have seen hunger first hand. It’s just not right” said Bryan Greer.

In celebration of their five year anniversary, they worked really hard to put on a day people would remember for a long time.  On July 13, 2014 they will be taking over Asbury Park.  From 2-4pm, there will be an Art and Acoustic In-Store show at HoldFast Records on Cookman Ave. It will feature artists that have done various design work for the record label over the years. The show is free but they are asking that everyone bring a can of food for the Food Banks of Ocean and Monmouth Counties.  This way, they can help fill the pantries for the upcoming holidays.

The artists involved are:

Mike McLaughlin,  Chris Cresswell,  Duke Duel,  Chris Lands,  Zachary Trover.

Acoustic Performances by:

Chris Cresswell – The Flatliners/Solo Artist,  Lenny Lashley – Gang Of One/The Street Dogs/Darkbuster,  Sammy Kay- The Fast Four/East Los 3/Solo Artist,  Mike Corvasce/Jesse Vadala – Ex. With The Punches. After the In-Store event at HoldFast, everyone will be heading over to the Asbury Lanes for the full band celebration.

The Lanes lineup consists of:

A Wilhelm Scream,  The Flatliners,  Lenny Lashley’s Gang of One,  Sammy Kay,  The Great Explainer, DeadAhead. There will also be special guests and a reunion of Jerk City with the original line-up featuring local musician/comedian Taylor Allen on vocals.
