REAL LIFE EMOJIS BY MOLLY MULSHINE

OK, if you don’t know what an emoji is, they are those annoying little emoticon picture characters people send via text message. My 35 year old brother loves to send them to me. And while emojis should probably never be sent by anyone over the age of 16, there is something strangely amusing about them. I probably laugh the hardest when I ask my brother how his day was and I get a “shit” emoji back. Yes, it looks like a steaming pile of shit.

Our very own Molly Mulshine, editor of sister site asburyparksun.com and triCityNews contributor took emojis and applied them to real life in this brilliant take on how far south our communication skills have gone. At some point in the future we won’t even open our mouths to speak. Mulshine wrote, directed and stars in the piece along with Eva Silver-Smith. It was filmed by Asbury Park resident Adam Worth.

“Real Life Emojis” was also featured on the popular entertainment site Buzzfeed.com and has close to 20, 000 views at this point.
