THE GOOD TIMES ARE RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER ON ASBURY’S BOARDWALK

We all know by now that the Jersey Shore took a real old-fashioned ass whoopin’ by a bad-ass bitch named Sandy. Nothing new to report there.

But instead of dwelling on the mayhem and destruction that’s invaded our lives over the past week, we’d rather think about the good times of the past and the many more good times to come because they are no doubt right around the corner. Make no mistake about it, Coastal Monmouth and the rest of New Jersey will pick itself up and move forward. We’re just tired of seeing all the pics of people’s homes floating away. It’s sad. It’s heartbreaking. It’s downright depressing.

So while all the other sites are inundating you with pictures of utter ruin, we’ll leave you with what was and what will be again.

This pic comes from local photographer Tom Berg. It’s of drummer Dean Martin Pyzik. If you’ve spent any time on the Asbury Park boardwalk, you’ve heard this kid thumping away like a madman day and night. Dude is out there just about every weekend when the weather is nice.  It’s scenes like this that I’ll look forward to when thinking about the rebuilding process.

Berg is a self-taught photographer, and relatively new to photography, which has allowed him to gradually develop his own unique style.

Tim tells The Anchor, “I primarily shoot at sunrise and sunset, waiting for the perfect light and vision in order to capture that key moment that goes beyond your typical perspective.”
