THE FACES OF DOWNTOWN ASBURY

Asbury Park is such an inviting place because of all of the interesting people.  When trying to come up with a film for the kick off of The Anchor I wanted to make something that showed the great personalities of some of the downtown business owners.

My direction was to have each merchant walk toward the camera until they were right in front of it and then have them look into the lens. I knew everyone would show some spontaneity and character during their “close-up” which is obvious when viewing the film.

I hope everyone enjoys The Faces of Downtown Asbury and I look forward to making more short films with The Anchor in the very near future. So stay tuned.

Mike Boylan is a creative genius in our eyes. This surfer and former owner of Stokaboka Surf Shop in Red Bank has already blown our minds with his first contribution to The Anchor, “The Faces of Downtown Asbury.” We’ve got some more stuff in the works with Mike that we look forward to showing off soon.
